In order to enter this arranged marriage, Milad Cheshani lied to the girl’s family, telling them that he was 22 years old.
Childhood should be remembered as the happiest part of life. It should be a time full of laughter and games, without pain or anguish. Sadly, not everyone is that lucky. There are unscrupulous people that won’t hesitate to ruin this divine treasure just for their own gain. Without a doubt, this is one of those horror stories.
In Iran, the court demands to annul the arranged marriage between a 9 years old girl and a 29 years old man. The controversy sparked after a celebration video came out to the light. Absolute cruelty.
The video shows how the underaged girl, dressed in a beautiful dress, is sitting next to her husband on a couch. She doesn’t look happy about the union. He patiently observes everything around him, without any expectations. And to make things worse, as soon as the bond is official, the adults in the audience begin to clap among cheers and applause. No one understands that they’re ruining an innocent girl’s childhood.
According to RT media, this happened two weeks ago in the city of Bahmai, in the province of Kohkiluyeh and Buyer Ahmad. Both families were involved.
The complaint was made through Twitter by Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad. “This is a wedding party for a child under 13 years old. I cried when I got this video. According to Islamic Law, a girl (…) can marry but she can’t choose her own clothing,” she wrote on her post.
The journalist said that the groom lied at the time of telling his real age for the marriage, saying that he was 22 years old when he’s actually older than that.
“This 29-year-old pedophile’s name is Milad (Shahrokh) Cheshani. He’s a member of the Basij military, while the girl’s name is Fatima Sayyadi. Cheshani received permission from the Islamic Court (…) in order to marry this underaged girl.”

This video already has more than 500 thousand views and more than five thousand retweets. “Poor girl, no one should go through this,” “This marriage will ruin her life,” “How can her family not realize the pain they’re causing her?” These were some of the comments in response. You can watch it here.
After the case went public, the Iranian government decided to take an active role and will decide, in the following days, if the marriage should be dissolved or not.
Kids should only worry about playing and learning new things, not about this sort of situation that we all know will ruin their lives. This union should be dissolved and forbidden in all the Middle Eastern countries immediately. Let’s fight for our children’s right to have a happy, fulfilling childhood.
