And Pocahontas got rid of that incredibly unrealistic waistline.
We’re used to seeing slim Disney princesses, exactly as they were created. And while there are several artists who create new versions of them, they rarely change the princesses’s bodies.
Generally, these artists depict them on important days, such as their wedding days, becoming mothers or even in the 21st century, wearing masks because of coronavirus, however they always maintain their “unrealistic” body shapes.
Which is why the artist Crystal Walker, who goes by “Neoqlassical Art” on Instagram decided to draw the Disney protagonists with curvier bodies, proudly flaunting their plus-size figures. She hopes to create a more honest image, and move away from the practically unattainable beauty standards imposed by the princesses in their original forms.
And they look incredible!
Some of them even look more “empowered” and sure of themselves now than before.
