There is no better way to show gratitude, as this beautiful example makes that clear. ❤
We spend our lives away thinking about what we need, our goals and objectives, but we rarely stop to do something as simple as saying thanks. It seems like an unimportant gesture, but there’s nothing more rewarding than doing someone a favor and then feel their appreciation. It simply fills us with happiness.
What’s most interesting is that gratitude isn’t something that just human beings can transmit. There are animals who don’t need to speak to let us know how they feel. Some people criticize how close humans can get to them, but as the famous phrase says: «the more I know people, the more I love animals.»
These beings are much more sincere than those we are used to surrounding ourselves with, such as this thirteen-year-old female kangaroo, who doesn’t stop hugging her rescuers.
The animal was found two months ago and responds to the name of Abigail although she’s best known as ‘Queen Abi’. This beautiful creature spends her day hugging the people who care for her in the Kangaroo Sanctuary, located in Alice Springs (Australia). Abigail lost her mother when she was only a few months old and volunteers decided to take care of her upbringing.
Australia is believed to be overpopulated with kangaroos. This is why the sale of this animal’s meat is allowed. The export of products related to the species amounts to 29 million dollars a year and signifies about 4,000 jobs in the country of Oceania.
However, the recent fires that spread across the country has affected its flora and fauna, surely reducing their amount and making a revision of their population necessary to avoid extinction. Luckily, there are also many people volunteering to preserve kangaroo lives, and those of other species, too.
Kangaroos share such a tight knit bond with their mother, than if they lose them, their lives become at risk. This is why this refuge’s work is even more applaudable as they not only provide the food and treatments that they need, but also the love.
