This really is a true horror story.
In a time when ignorance about this disease reigned, Ryan White became infected with this virus.
He was born with hemophilia, a condition that prevents blood from clotting and that requires transfusions to treat it.
White received them and this helped him a lot, but in 1984 everything changed.
He began to show symptoms of a pneumonia that appears in patients with AIDS, a new disease at the time.
They ran tests on him and he tested positive.
Back then, tests weren’t done to detect it in donations and that’s why Ryan became infected.
He was expelled from his school, his family was persecuted, and at 18 he finally said goodbye to this world. A real injustice, don’t you think?
