Carlos Alegre, 24, took advantage of every break he had between orders to study his notes in the middle of the street. His dedication didn’t go unnoticed.
The story of Carlos Alegre, a young delivery boy who studies under streetlights in Malaga, Spain, every time he had a break between orders, recently came to light. Carlos went viral when a photo was circulated of him sitting on a flight of stairs in the dark of night, studying only with the illumination of streetlights.
His dream is to be able to get ahead by studying Automotive Engineering, which is why this 24-year-old dedicated himself to working as a delivery driver in the afternoons and evenings, after his classes.
He’s studied and worked all his life. There was a time when, before becoming a delivery boy, the young man dedicated himself to work delivering pizzas, but his classes began to clash with his work schedule, so he ended up working for applications, where he manages his own time.
However, and to Carlos’s happiness, the story managed to turn things around for him. According to Cope, three companies offered him educational scholarships. The young man, who is a motorcycle lover, was given this news by the institution where he studies, the Andalusian Motorcycle Mechanics School -known as Escuela Mecánica de Motos Andaluza (EMA) in Spanish- where the young man takes both theoretical and practical courses.
Among the interested companies is one from Alicante, Toledo and Belgium, who found out about Carlos’ story after his image went viral in Facebook groups and was bombarded with good comments.
As for his situation, the young man explained to Cope that «between orders, instead of standing around doing nothing, I think reviewing my notes will help me most in the future.»
