«Working with my hands in my home gives me a lot of satisfaction, much more compared to any other job I’ve had before,» commented Canadian Cynthia Loewen, who at 27 left med school to be part of a worldwide movement of «traditional» wives and dedicate her days to taking care of the home.

It is very typical of the millennial generation to change their outlook on life from one day to the next and decide to embark on new projects and adventures, leaving a whole period of sacrifice behind.

However, it’s difficult to find cases like Cynthia Loewen’s, a 27-year-old woman from LaSalle (Montreal, Canada) who traded in her modeling job and her training to become a doctor for her husband. Of course, because she decided to become a housewife and dedicate herself 100% to housework.

After marrying her husband – an ex-military man – Cynthia decided to join the TradWife movement, in which women follow the behaviors of a «traditional» wife, taking care of the housework while their husbands support them financially.

«My husband is the breadwinner, and I oversee the house. Working with my hands in my home gives me a lot of satisfaction, much more compared to any other job I’ve had before.»

Initially, Cynthia commented that her husband had become the decision-maker at home, and while she had a hard time adjusting due to his «stubborn» personality, she believes this way of relating has strengthened the bond between the two of them.

Cynthia’s daily routine starts at the gym. Then she walks her dog and starts housework, having put on her makeup and getting dressed before leaving. She says that during the day, she enjoys cooking dinner and baking things, as well as exploring new hobbies like vlogging or tutoring children, for example.

Once dinner is ready, the woman waits for her husband to arrive from work to eat together and then go to bed. If he arrives home late, she leaves the food served and covered for him before going to bed.

«The more you see homemaking as a job, the more rewarding the results will be, just like any other job or career, you always want to have goals.»

Now, we want to ask you: what do you think about these types of decisions still happening in this day and age? Is housework really still stigmatized today?
