Sadly, no guests attended the party, but Marysol just looked at the positive side: «I give infinite thanks to God and to every person who was by my side this day. I received many messages with good wishes, many others with bad, and many others that were very cruel. I saw posts that were shared only to mock and laugh at me,» the woman wrote on her social media.
Baby showers are an increasingly traditional celebration, held in anticipation of a baby’s impending or recent birth. The parents receive gifts for the newborn and a party is held with family and friends, although it often doesn’t turn out as one would imagine.
This was the case for Marysol López, an enthusiastic mother from Mazatlán (Sinaloa, Mexico), who sadly saw her wishes of having a baby shower go unfulfilled.
The mother organized her own event and, unfortunately, no one came to the party: «They left me stood there like a bride rejected at the altar.»

The sad news was reported on by many local media sources, some even in a mocking tone, as Marysol herself said.

When she realized that no one would arrive, she posted photos on Facebook with a caption that received thousands of interactions.
The vast majority of the comments on the post were well-intentioned, encouraging her and asking for directions to the event.
«You can come and eat if you’d like, it doesn’t matter if you don’t bring a gift. I just don’t want the food to go to waste. 😞 They left me looking like a ranch bride dressed up in my baby shower. 😢 Whoever wants to come, send me a message, and I’ll send you the address via inbox».

However, not everyone had good wishes since, according to local media, Sinaloa is at a halt due to COVID-19, experiencing evident reduction in mobility. In other words, she wasn’t allowed to organize events of this magnitude.
Some comments mentioned this, but Marysol said she had made a short list of guests, with hand sanitizer, methods of disinfection, and disposable masks.
“I give infinite thanks to God and to every person who was by my side on this day. I received many messages with good wishes, many others with bad, and many others that were very cruel. I saw posts that were shared only to mock and laugh at me, in others, I saw good comments and the truth is that it’s a shame to see how they love to tear people to pieces, as there are men speaking ill about women. But, well, some people can never be pleased, and I just wish blessings to each and every one of them. I wish them always good health».

Despite everything, the woman took the positives and drew lessons from this. She put the taunts and cruel comments in her back pocket and forgot all about them.
