With the passage of time, the concept of family has changed to a more open one. It is no longer just the traditional one composed of a father, a mother and children, but there can be two mothers, fathers, or even just one. LGBT rights are increasingly recognized because, like everyone else, this community deserves to form a family and give their love to one child or more, according to what they want.
Miguel Sanchez and Ismael Mena, a linguist and professor, are a couple of men who have always dreamed of caring for more than one child together in their lives and thanks to the law legalizing the adoption for homosexuals that has been in force since 2005 in Spain, they were able to fulfill their dream, although better than they expected.
Miguel and Ismael became the parents of newborn triplets that arrived as a blessing to their lives.

It is known that adoption processes are slow, especially for couples like them, so they started the paperwork in October 2020 with the adoption offer to the Junta de Castilla y León, according to El Diario.
They wanted to adopt «two or three children,» which could range from babies to five years old, but they were always open to more possibilities because what mattered most was loving the children and giving them a home.
They were aware that it was a process that could take from two to three years, but in only 15 months, they received an important surprise. Newborn triplets were going to be their adopted daughters.

Interestingly, they were informed of the news on December 28, 2021, a date known to be «April Fool’s Day» and they doubted the veracity because it was very likely to be a bad joke. Still, they accepted the idea. «They told us they already had the girls, three triplet girls. My husband had a fit of laughter. I was slow to react, but we said yes right away,» Miguel told El Diario.
They received the babies a few weeks later and thanks to the help of family and friends, they got cribs, bottles, and all the things they needed for them.

Although it sounds like an exhausting and unsatisfying job to take care of three newborns, the truth is that Miguel and Ismael have enjoyed every second of it. They are living the dream they had so long hoped to fulfill.
«They are very, very good. They sleep well and let us sleep stretches of two long hours. We are delighted. There have been no bad moments. They were a little restless the first night and that’s it,» Miguel told the media.

Since they are triplets, they have to figure out how to identify them, but they have everything under control. They recognize them by some spots on their bodies or voice tones and ride with them together in a car. «They like it, they cuddle, they like the contact, and they stay very calm, and we love to take them like that,» Miguel told El Diario.
This experience has been wonderful for the happy couple, and they hope to motivate those who hope to have their children soon. «We share this experience because we would’ve liked to read something like this when we started with the adoption process and because in Castilla y León the number of unadopted children is greater than those who are adopted,» Miguel told the site.
