Mauro had to take his 6-year-old daughter Guadalupe to the street to study because their home had become so dangerous. The entire family spent days and nights homeless until their case went viral on Facebook.

Mauro stands on a street corner in San Miguel de Tucumán (Argentina) to clean the cars of those who request his service. Normally, he would’ve gone alone to work, but the bad coexistence with his alcoholic father-in-law forced him to take his 6-year-old daughter named Guadalupe with him to do her homework and study in the middle of the street.

The rest of the family also had to spend days and nights homeless due to his father-in-law’s addiction that made the home dangerous. He had no choice but to find a way to get by, even if he had to start from scratch with his wife Ruth, 28.

Their situation reached people’s hearts after a Facebook user, named Alvaro Romero, photographed them and told their story on the social network.

The image was shared more than 4,700 times and reached Agustín, who went to the corner and gave Mauro a job to help his entire family. “Agustín was a customer at the traffic light. We met because of his good heart,” the father told TN.

This new opportunity opened the doors to a new home, food, and independence for them.We can give our children a better lifestyle. Before, if it rained, we didn’t eat,” Mauro told the media.

It’s normal that in times of despair people lose faith that everything can improve, as it happened to the father of the family, since he didn’t expect that he would get a job as a bricklayer’s assistant in a construction company, and all thanks to the solidarity of Agustín and the people who collaborated by spreading his story.

“I couldn’t wait to leave to have something. I thought I was going to die at the traffic light,” Mauro told TN. They now live in a quiet boarding house with more space than their previous home. His wife Ruth also got a job. Guadalupe goes to a double-shift school and her 2-year-old brother attends kindergarten.

Joy and satisfaction predominate in Mauro and his family’s life. After so much effort and sacrifice, they finally have a place to call home and to return to. “We are happy. Now when we have to get up early every day to go somewhere, we know that at night we will be back under a single roof, and that when the month is over, we will collect our money,” the man told the site.

Now they will focus on taking advantage of those jobs to continue improving their quality of life. He even plans to buy a motorcycle to take his wife and children. It’s a whole life that they’re just beginning to enjoy.
