Sometimes things really do seem to have been written in the stars. We’d especially like to believe this about our partners, that somehow the cosmos knew we were meant to be together so it put us in each other’s path. This sounds more like fantasy than reality, but for Ailiz Melina Zambrano Pinargote, a 26-year-old Ecuadorian, it really does seem that way.

They met when she was 17; Ailiz had seen her current husband, Pedro Pablo, around her hometown. However, the woman never had the courage to speak to him. However, fate brought them together when she saw him again at her university.
The woman said, “I was about to enter my class when I saw Peter sitting on a bench outside my class,» she says. When I saw him, he looked at me, and at that moment I smiled at him». Peter didn’t speak to her at the time and she didn’t speak to him either, but he later looked her up on Facebook and added her. It was then that the pair spent a whole night talking and realized they really liked each other a lot.

Eventually the man found the courage to ask her to marry him. She of course accepted, and they’ve now been married for one year and ten months.
It was only recently that Ailiz noticed that she appeared a childhood photo of her husband. For no apparent reason, she was looking through an album of old photographs of him when she was shocked to see herself in one of the pictures. She definitely had to look twice, but there was no question about it, it was her.
