The students didn’t hesitate to pay tribute to Rafael Villacob, a shopkeeper who used to give them credit when he found out they left home without breakfast and didn’t have money to pay him.
Social media isn’t just for sharing funny moments that go viral but also for sharing inspiring stories that can motivate others to follow suit. Such is the story of this vendor outside a school in Colombia.
Through Twitter, the noble gesture that two young students made to the food vendor at their school became known: they dedicated their graduation to him because he helped them feed themselves for years.
The man in question is Rafael Villacob, who trusted young Natalia and Brenda when he found out that they had left home without breakfast and had no money with which to pay.
The recently graduated students from the Mariscal de Sucre school in Sampués took their diplomas to Rafael Villacop, a fried food vendor, admitting that it was ‘don Rafael’ who always motivated them to continue with their studies until the end.

After achieving their goal, both approached Villacob’s stall to celebrate their triumph and immortalize the moment in a photograph that went viral on Twitter and generated thousands of reactions.
«Thank you ‘Pilinki’ for making it possible for many young people in this institution to make their dream come true. We counted on you for our fried food so we wouldn’t be hungry in class,» they said.
