A hippopotamus surprised a group of visitors by marking its territory in front of them at the Milwaukee County Zoo in the United States. The incident occurred on April 19, when a family on vacation decided to tour the indoor area where these animals are kept.

According to Erin Romaneck, the hippo named Happy approached the enclosure fence and, without warning, began to expel excrement in the direction of the public. At first, visitors were curious about how close the animal was, but the surprise quickly turned into discomfort when they saw it spraying those who were nearby.
The moment was recorded and went viral on social media, generating reactions of laughter and astonishment at the hippopotamus’s unexpected behavior.
