According to a survey conducted in Spain by the extramarital dating site Ashley Madison, 73% of men would rather watch soccer than have sex with their partner.
This was particularly striking because it coincided with major matches, such as derbies or Champions League games, when men’s attention was focused on the sport.
According to the same study, during those matches, women’s activity on the platform increased significantly, whether by signing up or interacting more.
The explanation given by the site itself was that, while men were focused on soccer, some women sought to “compensate” for that lack of attention elsewhere.
