Nathan Chasing Horse, known for his role in Dances With Wolves, was sentenced in Nevada to 37 years to life in prison after being found guilty of multiple sex-related crimes.

The verdict came after an 11-day trial, where the victims recounted abuses that, according to the prosecution, spanned nearly two decades, during which he used his role as a spiritual figure to manipulate women and girls, creating an environment of control and abuse.

The jury found him guilty of 13 charges, including assaults on minors, resulting in one of the harshest sentences an actor has faced in the U.S.

Nathan denied the accusations and called the ruling an injustice, but the court considered the evidence sufficient to convict him.
