Camilla decided to add symbolic meaning to the trip by honoring the late Queen Elizabeth II, as she is wearing the same brooch that once belonged to her and that the monarch used during her 1957 visit when she met with the mayor of New York. However, the gesture has not been well received by internet users.
The enigmatic brooch is shaped like a flag and features stars and stripes, set with rubies, emeralds, and diamonds. Among the comments circulating are: “she will never be a queen,” and some continue to compare her to the late Princess Diana.
It is worth noting that Melania and Camilla will have a parallel agenda to the meetings between the King and the president, where they will hold their own bilateral conversations.
