Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez is embroiled in controversy following his remarks on the “Cracks” podcast, where he stated that athletes should invest their earnings in businesses rather than in luxuries:

“If you don’t have the ability to think that way and if you don’t have financial literacy, you’re always going to be poor. Give $10 million to someone who doesn’t have it, and they’re going to want to spend $15 million.”

“There’s no such thing as money that doesn’t run out. The poor will always be poor because they want to be,” the boxer concluded.
