A lot of controversy was generated by the actions of a Corinthians fan in his team’s match against Palmeiras, where he decided to insult Carlos Miguel, the opposing team’s goalkeeper.

The fan attacked the footballer with racist comments, provoking several shouts of “monkey” from the crowd.

In response, Corinthians issued a statement: “The club vehemently repudiates any act of racism or discrimination, reinforcing its commitment in the fight for respect, equality and inclusion on and off the pitch.”

But that was not all, as they also removed the seat of the fan identified as the aggressor of Carlos Miguel, with a powerful message: “Here racism has no place and never will.”
