Juan Wilmer Tulul Tepaz was only 14 years old and already knew what he wanted for his family. 🌾 In Tzucubal, a town in the municipality of Nahualá, Guatemala, he left school after sixth grade to work the land alongside his father, Manuel de Jesús Tulul.

There, day laborers earn between 3 and 5 dollars a day. And although he was just a child of playing age, Juan Wilmer was already dreaming big: he wanted to help build a larger house for his mother, Magdalena Tepaz Tziac, and the rest of his family. 🏡

That same month, July 2022, he would have turned 15. His story, and that of his cousin Pascual Melvin, 13, became etched in their community as the memory of two young people who dreamed of a better future for their loved ones. 💛
