Edmilson Alcântara married Karine de Souza, and when photographer Daniel Panisson shared a photo session he took of them, their story moved the world. The 28-year-old woman suffers from a rare skin disease called xeroderma pigmentosum. Due to extreme sensitivity to ultraviolet (UV) rays, when light reaches her skin, it depigments it and causes lesions. For now, there is no cure.
The photographer took the photos in 2018, but recently shared the album again. Along with the images he wrote: “Have you ever worried about appearance and forgotten to worry about feelings?
