Pedro Alexander Díaz Franco was 15 years old and recorded videos for TikTok on a soccer field in Choloma, Honduras. It was 7:20 at night on July 5 when hooded men, armed with high-caliber rifles, intercepted him and took him away in front of those who were nearby.
His family did not wait even a minute. They posted his face on social media, asked for help, searched every possible corner. But Honduras responded with the worst news just 24 hours later: passersby walking along the CA-13 highway, in La Lima, Cortés, alerted the police about some black garbage bags lying on the roadway.
Inside was Pedro Alexander. Barefoot, dressed only in dark pants. Forensic experts in San Pedro Sula had to rely on a scar from a previous surgery on his leg to confirm it was him. So far, no one responsible has been identified or arrested.
