Ryder Williams is 16 years old, and that day he was just doing his job. 🌊

He was a California State Parks lifeguard on duty at a beach in Santa Cruz when he saw Nathaniel Rai, just 10 years old, struggling against waves of up to 3 meters. He plunged into the water without thinking twice, alongside another lifeguard, Aaron Bohnen, and managed to pull him alive from an unforgiving current.

The video of that rescue went viral and made its way to the White House. On Monday, Donald Trump welcomed Ryder and Nathaniel to the Oval Office to thank them in person, and even invited them to visit the Lincoln Bedroom. Ryder already has his next goal in mind: training as a paramedic and becoming a firefighter. 🚒
