The case of Jeremy Webb, a 16-year-old Australian teenager, left doctors and specialists in shock because of the strange allergy he developed without knowing it.

It all happened during a camping trip in 2022. Jeremy began having trouble breathing after eating beef. His friends tried to revive him, but the teenager collapsed and later died at the hospital.

At first they believed it had been asthma. But the investigation revealed something far more disturbing. The young man is believed to have suffered a tick bite that triggers a meat-related allergic reaction, known as alpha-gal syndrome, which causes the body to react violently to red meat. His case was the second recorded in the world.
