Didier Gaspard Owen Maximilien, 18, a French student at the Essec business school in Singapore, licked a straw from an orange juice vending machine in a shopping mall on March 12 — and put it back in the dispenser. He filmed himself doing it. He posted it on social media. The video went viral and police immediately opened an investigation.
Today he faces two charges: public nuisance (up to 3 months in jail and a fine of $1.570 dollars) and mischief causing damage (up to 2 years in prison). He was released on $3.920 dollars bail. The company IJOOZ had to replace the 500 straws in that machine. In Singapore, the laws do not distinguish between a prank and a crime. 🚨
