Sergio Isaac Barrios Medina was 19 and had a simple gesture: a slushie for his ex-girlfriend.
He had broken up with his ex-partner about six months earlier, but they had stayed in touch. On the night of Monday, October 5, he went to her home in the “Ciudadela 20 de Julio” neighborhood in Barranquilla to bring her what, according to authorities, she herself had asked him for. He left, but returned after an alleged phone call.

According to the investigation, when he returned, she was no longer there, and he encountered her current boyfriend, with whom he got into an argument. He ended up with a stab wound to the neck. Neighbors came to his aid and took him to the nearest medical center, but he died in the resuscitation room.

Authorities are treating it as a possible crime of passion. They are searching for a suspect who, according to reports, may be a minor.
