A father’s negligence has left a mother heartbroken 💔
In Chile, Isidora, a 2-year-old girl, died after falling from an 11th-floor window in Las Condes, while she was under her father’s care during a Sunday visit. According to the background information, he and his partner were sleeping in another room after a celebration the night before.
The little girl had reportedly been watching cartoons when the accident happened. The window had a safety mesh, but it allegedly gave way, causing the fall.
The most shocking thing is that the father did not even find out at the time. It was a neighbor who heard the noise and alerted the building management, while downstairs they were trying to figure out from which apartment the girl had fallen.
About 40 minutes passed until they finally managed to reach the apartment and wake the father to tell him what had happened.
Emergency personnel quickly arrived at the scene, but Isidora died due to the severity of her injuries. The case caused shock in Chile, especially because of the circumstances in which the tragedy occurred and the time that passed before the father learned what had happened.
The man was arrested and the Prosecutor’s Office is considering charging him with homicide by omission, while proceedings continue to establish responsibilities.
