Josué Benjamín Figueroa arrived with his hands, his faith, and an enormous vision — literally. The young Venezuelan artist, known on social media as @mundodeplastilinadejosue, has just installed a 5-meter-tall sculpture of Jesus Christ in St. Katharine Drexel Church in Weston, Florida. 🙏
But the work goes beyond its size. Alongside Christ, Josué included an image of Saint José Gregorio Hernández, the beloved Venezuelan “doctor of the poor”, as a silent embrace to the thousands of compatriots who found a second home in that parish. “Representing Jesus’ sacrifice is an immense responsibility: every gesture, every wound, and every line seek to convey love, devotion, and hope”, the artist himself confessed. ✨
When the parishioners walked in and looked up, many could not hold back their tears. A Venezuelan far from his homeland left etched in clay what cannot always be said with words. 🕊️
