Aarón is 21 years old and was rescued from beneath the rubble of a collapse in La Guaira, Venezuela. 110 hours passed. Nearly five days without seeing the light, without knowing whether anyone would hear him, unable to move freely.

But he was not alone. His kitten stayed close to him all that time, without leaving his side for a single moment, as if it understood that its presence was the only thing that could keep him going. When rescuers finally reached him, they found him still hugging that small furry body that had become his anchor.

Today Aarón is alive thanks to human resilience, the tireless work of those who never stopped searching and, perhaps, the silent loyalty of an animal that chose not to leave. Meanwhile, rescue teams continue among the rubble, without stopping, searching for more stories like his.
