The life of former Australian model Turia Pitt was marked forever on September 2, 2011, when she was taking part in an ultramarathon in the remote Kimberley region of Australia and ended up trapped in the middle of a fierce wildfire.

Surrounded by flames with no possible escape, she suffered burns to 65% of her body and spent months fighting for her life. She underwent more than 200 surgeries and remained isolated during a long recovery that completely transformed her face and body.

Against all odds, she survived, becoming years later one of the most powerful and harrowing stories of overcoming adversity known in Australia.
