A serious case of gastroparesis is shocking the health sector in the United Kingdom due to the rapid physical deterioration of a patient who went from weighing 52 to 25 kilos.

Emilie Cullum, a 36-year-old mother who lives in St Albans in Hertfordshire, began vomiting in November 2024, mistakenly blaming supposedly expired milk. After an initial misdiagnosis of Crohn’s disease, a private clinic detected the partial paralysis of her stomach.

The National Health Service NHS admitted her to palliative care after seeing that her weight dropped drastically. Her husband Kyle, 41, and her children Mia, 12, Taurus, 16, and Kai, 14, are raising funds so that Emilie can receive treatment at home.
