Khloe Simmonds is 26 years old and spent seven years building a lie that almost destroyed six lives.
In Harrow, northwest London, she filed at least 12 false rape reports against six different men. One of them spent 88 days under investigation for an alleged knife-point rape. Another was arrested 20 hours after a date arranged through Grindr: he left Simmonds’s apartment after feeling uncomfortable, and she called 999 claiming she had been raped and drugged.
For a time, her allegations came to represent 2,5% of all serious sexual assault allegations recorded in the area. A court found her guilty on eight counts of perverting the course of justice and sentenced her to seven and a half years in prison. The names of the six men remain protected, but the marks she left on their lives are now public.
