Zena Wozniak, a 37-year-old woman from Los Angeles, met a British man on Tinder in 2022, and the connection was so good that she decided to include London in a six-week trip around Europe to see him again.
After two weekends together in California, he had even asked her to stay for ten days and had plans to take her to Kent. Everything seemed to be going wonderfully… until Zena landed in London.
The man picked her up at the airport, but he had rather less romantic news: he had reconnected with his ex and realized he still had feelings for her.
Zena ended up staying for three days in his apartment while he stayed somewhere else, and then went to a friend’s house. “After years of being digitally ghosted by men, it was a strange courtesy to be sitting across from him, having an honest face-to-face conversation”, she said.
They exchanged a few messages afterward and never spoke again. At least she came away with a story that’s hard to forget… and fairly expensive proof that the Tinder algorithm can’t guarantee a happy ending either. 😭✈️❤️
