Chris Pawson had more than a decade of experience as a carpenter when a workplace accident changed his life forever.

In February 2022, while cutting wood with a circular saw in Blackpool, England, his right hand got caught in the machine. He completely lost his middle finger, suffered the partial amputation of his ring finger, and sustained serious injuries to his thumb and index finger.

His partner, Bryony, was about to give birth. The injuries were so severe that Chris could not even hold his newborn baby and had to leave his job as a carpenter.

After a four-year legal battle, in 2026 he secured compensation of more than 1,3 million dollars, which enabled him to access advanced prosthetics and continue his rehabilitation.
Today, at 38, he works training future construction professionals, finding a new way to stay connected to the trade he loved so much. ❤️
