Maria had failed three driving tests. Her son Heitor decided there wouldn’t be a fourth failure.

This 43-year-old Brazilian mechanic put on a long skirt, a floral blouse, earrings, and padding in his bra. He added a handbag and painted nails and, according to some sources, heavy makeup and a wig. Dressed like that, he showed up in Novo Mutum Paraná, in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon, to take the practical test in place of his 60-year-old mother. He arrived two hours late, when the other candidates had already finished, including the parking maneuver.

Examiner Aline Mendonça, with 12 years of experience, noticed something was off right away: the driving school owner’s nervousness and a “woman” who didn’t seem to be one. According to some media outlets, his voice and large hands gave him away. She asked for his ID, let him start the test, and notified the police.

Heitor ended up arrested for identity fraud. He was released shortly afterward and will probably face a fine. According to an officer, he did it for his mother, and she knew nothing about it.
On social media, Brazil was divided: for some, a crime is a crime; for others, he was son of the year.

He did it out of love… but his voice gave him away before he even started the car. Noble gesture or crime? 🚗
