I don’t care about losing people who no longer want to be in my life. With that phrase, 50 Cent summed up a way of looking at relationships that many people take years to learn: when someone leaves, you don’t chase after them.
The rapper said it bluntly: he has lost people who meant the world to him and, even so, he’s perfectly fine. This isn’t a recent act. In interviews, he has said that when someone shows you that they care less about you, the healthy thing to do is simply walk away.

He has also spoken openly about not surrounding himself with people he has to be on guard around and about keeping his circle very small.
His story explains where that mindset comes from. He grew up in a violent environment in Queens and survived an attack in which he was shot 9 times. Since then, his personal brand has been tied to extreme resilience and detachment from those who bring nothing to the table or betray him.
Is walking away without looking back a sign of strength, or simply a way of protecting yourself?
