A court in the state of Texas handed down a final sentence against 75-year-old Chung Kim for a double homicide that occurred in his residential building.

The conflict escalated because the occupants of the upstairs floor allowed their pet’s organic waste to continuously fall into the elderly man’s lower patio. After months of ignored complaints, the man used a firearm to end the life of his 31-year-old neighbor and later chased the young woman’s boyfriend to shoot him while he was trying to escape.

The jury found him guilty of capital murder, so he will have to spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
