This retired nurse from Cheltenham, United Kingdom, has been “wing walking” since she was 87, and this week she broke her own Guinness World Record again as the oldest woman to do it: she was exactly 97 years and 127 days old. It was her sixth time up there, something she does despite suffering a stroke in 2025 that left her hospitalized at Cheltenham General Hospital.

“I can’t drive, I don’t see very well, and I get a little frustrated. So I want to do the things I can do. Otherwise, I would get bored with life”

That is why, this time, she was not only flying for fun: every lap she took helped raise funds for the stroke unit at Cheltenham Hospital, the same place where she was treated and recovered in 2025 after suffering a stroke.

And she is already thinking about her next challenge, an even bigger one, for when she turns 100. 🎂
