Nisha Kumari is 17 years old and is lying on a bed made of 35 kilos of nails.
The images came from Bajitpur, in Vaishali district, Bihar state, India. According to her parents, the young woman is possessed by Maa Kali, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. They say she feels no pain and has lost the ability to speak. They also claim that, despite spending long periods on the metal points, she has no wounds.
The case came to light when a reporter from the local news program Chinta News visited the house where she is staying. Hundreds of devotees lined up to see her; some believe she is a divine manifestation.
There is no medical report or official statement confirming the alleged possession, and much of the information is circulating on social media. While some speak of faith, others are calling for a doctor to assess the minor. Local authorities have reportedly expressed concern for her health.
