Shandace Robertson was posing for her wedding photos in Ballard, Seattle, when a 2-year-old girl out walking with her mom stopped dead in her tracks, staring at her.
The little girl was clutching her favorite book of the week to her chest, whose cover featured a woman in a white dress. Seeing Shandace in her wedding dress was enough: to her, the princess from the story had stepped off the page and was standing right there in the middle of the street. The little girl was so excited that her mom, Kelsey Edwards, had to explain to Shandace that she thought Shandace was the princess from her book.
Shandace knelt down to her level, greeted her as the princess the little girl imagined and gave her a flower from her bouquet. Photographer Stephanie Cristalli captured the moment, and Shandace’s husband, Scott, uploaded the images to Imgur: in a single day, they surpassed 600.000 views.
For that little girl, it hadn’t been just a bride passing by on the street: for a few minutes, she had truly met the princess from her favorite story.
