An old photo of Hayden Panettiere and James Blunt set the internet ablaze.
In her book, published just months before her death, Hayden Panettiere said that at 18, an acquaintance from the industry took her to a yacht to meet a British singer-songwriter, who allegedly harassed her while naked. She never said his name.
But the internet was quick to point to James Blunt, based on a 2009 photo in which they both appear together at a party in Cannes and, the following day, aboard a boat.
Blunt has not spoken directly. He only shared an article that does the math: in May 2009, Hayden was almost 20, not 18, and in the photos she looks happy, not scared.
An eyes emoji was his entire response 👀. The true identity of the man in the story remains unconfirmed, while the entertainment world bids farewell to Panettiere, who died on August 16 in South Carolina.
