An adult interrupted the call to explain that they were only looking after the child while his mother was ill and had been distracted for a second.
The operator, far from hanging up and forgetting about it, asked an officer to stop by the house. That’s how Kurt arrived, and he examined the toys one by one with all the patience in the world before kindly explaining what 111 is really for. “He had some great toys”, the officer later recounted.
