Brianna Kingsley, 40, asked her former partner for 6.500 dollars for disposing of her surgically removed testicles. She had kept them in a jar in William Wojciechowski’s refrigerator after her operation. According to her, she did it because she dealt with trauma through comedy, just like Shakespeare.

The district judge in Pontiac, Michigan, couldn’t find a way to measure that harm. He said he could calculate an amount if someone missed work at a job paying 16 dollars an hour, but he couldn’t put a number on the testicles. For him, the decisive point was something else. In January 2023, she had the opportunity to take her testicles out of her ex’s house, but she didn’t. If they were so important, she had the chance to grab them, and she didn’t.

Wojciechowski maintained that the body parts had been rotting among his food for more than a year and that, since they were not in a biohazard container, he threw them away in July.
