Abdominal pain led a 48-year-old man to the hospital. Imaging showed hundreds of iron nails inside his stomach, but the exact number became clear only during surgery: doctors removed 639.

According to the report, he had a history of ingesting objects that were not food. The nails weighed more than 2 pounds in total; despite the quantity, none had perforated his stomach.

After the operation, the man made a full recovery.
