Cross Flagg was only 5 years old when he came out of his room one night, after praying with his parents, and announced something no one expected: he wanted a Jesus-themed birthday party.
His mom, Jaclyn Flagg, remembers that she and her husband looked at each other and thought “Can you do that?”. But Cross had already decided everything. He didn’t want any gifts — he preferred to give them to his friends. Each invited child left with a children’s Bible identical to the one he reads every night, coloring pages, modeling clay, and a Jesus bracelet. To the adults he gave something different: colorful beaded bracelets that he called “salvation”, with no words written on them.
Several guests were moved to tears that day, and months later they are still wearing the bracelet. Jaclyn says they keep it on as a reminder to have “childlike faith”. No one at the party was surprised, because Cross was already known for inviting his friends and even his own parents to listen to Christian music and read the Bible together.
