A 50-year-old patient arrived at the ER with abdominal pain that had him “stiff as a board,” and for good reason. According to his version, he “tripped and accidentally fell” onto an object that ended up where nobody wants anything to be. 🚑💨
The worst part wasn’t the impact, but that he spent 48 HOURS trying to remove it himself out of embarrassment 🤦♂️.
In the end, what could have been a 20-minute procedure turned into a major 4-hour surgery, a colostomy, and a week in intensive care.
The moral of the story: embarrassment is costly, but “aim” turns out even worse. 😂
