Azarashi was 63 and expected nothing more from life when it came to love.
She had divorced at 48 after more than two decades of marriage, raised her son alone, and devoted her days to a pet clothing business. Romance seemed like a closed chapter until, in August 2020, at a café in Tokyo, she found a forgotten cellphone and decided to return it. Its owner was 31 years old.

They crossed paths again on a tram, and that was where something neither of them saw coming began. They got married at Christmas in 2022, and today, three years later, they still call each other ‘prince’ and ‘princess.’ Azarashi is even six years older than her mother-in-law, who initially had doubts about the relationship but eventually accepted it. Now the two of them run a matchmaking agency together, helping other couples find what they found by chance.
