Almost every morning, like a religious ritual, a man arrived punctually at Tappan Reformed Church cemetery in Tappan, New York. 🚗
The family of Lisa Torello, who died in 2017 at age 66 from cancer, had been noticing something strange next to the gravestone since April 2022: bags of excrement appearing again and again, as if someone were deliberately leaving them. Tired of not understanding what was happening, they installed security cameras with the cemetery’s permission. What they recorded was even worse than they had imagined: a man urinating on the grave, completely calmly, while a woman waited for him in the car.
The suspect turned out to be 68-year-old Dean Eichler, Torello’s ex-husband, whom she had been briefly married to in the 70s before a contentious divorce in 1974. According to the family, Eichler abandoned her when she became pregnant and never acknowledged the daughter. Almost 50 years later, with no contact whatsoever, he decided to reappear in the least expected way. 😳
