Sara was 10 years old when she threw a bottle into the sea in Cuba.
It was June 6, 1998, and inside she left a message asking whoever found it to throw it back into the water. The bottle crossed the Atlantic, traveled more than 6.000 kilometers, and along the way was found several times in Galicia: in 2023 it was found on Carril Beach, in Vilagarcía de Arousa, and Ana, María, Milucha, and two 8-year-old girls, Lucía and Nayara, added their own words before returning it to the sea.
On August 7, 2026, almost 28 years after its first journey, sisters Lena and Xulia Soto were swimming at Samil Beach in Vigo when they saw it floating. They opened it, read every message accumulated over the years, and added their own. They tried to relaunch it that same day, but the currents returned it to the shore: now they plan to throw it from the Cíes Islands, hoping that one day it will return to Cuba and Sara, who would now be about 38 years old, will know that her bottle never stopped.
