In Nayarit, Mexico, an elderly man went out every day on his bicycle to sell bread around the neighborhood. That day, the chain came off right in the middle of his route, and there was no way to keep going. Because of his age, bending down was impossible. There he was, alone, with his basket of bread and his bicycle at a standstill.
That was when a boy passing through the area, also on a bicycle, saw him, stopped, got off without saying much, and sat down on the ground to fix the chain. With his hands, calmly, without rushing. When he finished, he put the basket of bread back in place and made sure the man could get on and continue on his way. Just like that.
A passerby recorded the moment, and the video quickly went viral on YouTube and other platforms. Thousands of people stopped to watch that brief moment in which a boy made an elderly man’s day with the simplest gesture: helping. 🫶
