A bull terrier was considered the “best friend” of a baby, until it tore off his nose in a single bite, and the mother now says she doesn’t trust any dog

Daniel Griffiths, 32, looked away for just a few seconds.

His children were playing in the living room of the family home in Walsall, near Birmingham, with toy helicopters. Blizzard, the family bull terrier, saw the toys crossing the air and something in its instincts kicked in. In an instant, it bit little Romy in the face. The child lost teeth, fractured his jaw, and was left without part of his nose.

Jodie Griffiths, the mother, was at work when she received the call. The parents insist on something that seems contradictory: Blizzard was Romy’s best friend and had never shown any sign of aggression before. That is why they decided to publish photos of their son’s injured face, not to blame the dog, but to warn other parents that even the most trustworthy animal can react in a fraction of a second to an unexpected stimulus.
