A comedy influencer broke into his former workplace and stole 200 dollars: the camera didn’t capture his face, but his walk gave him away

Dejontay Wings had 600,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, a growing comedy career under the handle @wingstoofunny, and the apparent conviction that 200 dollars were worth all of that.

East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office

On December 2, 2025, two weeks after being fired from a Take 5 Oil Change location on Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, Wings returned to the business at 10:50 at night. He broke a garage window, entered the office, and found the safe — he knew where it was because he had worked there. The security camera, true to form, failed right during the robbery and recorded no face. A perfect hit on paper. Except for one detail: his way of walking. The manager reviewed the video, recognized the unmistakable gait of his former employee, and reported it to the police.

Wings was formally arrested on June 6, 2026 and faces charges of simple burglary and criminal damage to property. His mugshot went viral with millions of views, probably surpassing any sketch he has posted. The charges are allegations; there is still no conviction. But the story already has the punchline any comedian would envy — too bad this time he is the joke.
